The Motherless babies are admitted under the custodial care of the Home for a period of about two years by which time the children are expexted to be able to eat the local food, are less dependent on adult for feeding and can communicate verbally n the local language. Thereafter, they are returned to their fathers. There are about 23 babies at any given time although the Home can accommodate more.
The Home encourages immediate adoption of the abandoned children and for those not abandoned, they are returned to their relatives after a period of two years. If for any reason, the relations are unable to provide the much needed physical and emotional needs especiallt then relatives abandon such children, they are fostered by responsible individuals in the society or taken over by the SOS village. The Home tries to avoid this option as much as possible by encouraging relatives to pay regular visits to their wards.
